The historic and once dramatically leaning former home of Liberty Bar at the Pearl will reopen Sept. 2 as the South Texas-inspired restaurant Carriqui. The late 19th century building has been moved multiple times and undergone significant renovations to repair its memorable tilt, among other improvements.

“As stewards of the storied structure, we are excited for the building’s next chapter. We have assembled a great team to showcase the foodways of South Texas and welcome all of San Antonio to gather, relax and celebrate here,” Elizabeth Fauerso, CEO of Potluck Hospitality CEO, which manages restaurant concepts at the Pearl, said in a statement.
